Chapter 1: The Encounter
The sky is darkening, the wind is breezing, and Jimmy…Jimmy is running frantically through the woods. Fleeing, or call it pulling a tactical retreat. From a big ass boar-like monster.
To call it a boar is an insult to the creature. It has an enormous snout, gigantic head, 3 eyes on it, a menacing saber-like pair of tusks which if it were up to Jimmy would be aptly named Brutal and Violence, and a huge almost 2 meter length of torso covered in bristling dark stripe brownish thick furs. The said boar is currently chasing behind the poor boy, roughly 15 meters behind him, and gaining.
“Oh shit oh shit oh shi…” Jimmy grumbles between gasps. For a 14 years old, he is considered quite athletic among his peers, yet to outrun a boar, not to mention a gigantic one is not a feat easily accomplished. Jimmy knows that glaring truth, the boar-like monster apparently knows that, too. Hence why it doesn’t seem too rushed to finish his hunt. To an onlooker, the scene seemed comically mismatched, with the hunter and the prey of vastly different sizes and appearances.
‘Find water asap, they said…. Get shelter and fire soon, they said…Fuck it, next time i got transported into a different world, I’ll just cuddle like a baby and die on the spot,’ Jimmy thought to himself.
He couldn’t really blame himself, though. When the round and grayish portal suddenly appeared on top of the school field, complete with cool purple lightning effects, everyone was too shocked to move, or even made some funny remarks.
Most likely everyone on the field who saw the portal realized at that point that the fecal matters had hit the fan, yet nobody had the initiative to make a run until pretty Lizz started screaming. They knew it was either an alien attack, the government new military research gone wrong, or fiction isekais came real.
Jimmy pretty much knew or suspected it in his heart that it was an Isekai gate, just like the isekai and transmigration novels he often read. He could do without the truck kun, thankfully. He wanted to move, yet a part of him filled with wonder of what was going to happen next. Perhaps it's time if he would be one of the Chosen, picked by gods to save the other world from certain prophesied dooms or misfits.
This little part of him thought that why not, after 14 years of average joe life, maybe this is the time he would and could shine as the main character of the story. “Jimmy the Earthian Shield Hero”, or “Jimmy the Archmage from Earth 51”, he thought.
This little part of his ego is currently crouching in the corner of his mind, admitting guilty for his foolish dream and ambition while the other Jimmies are currently berating this lil guy, short of resorting to violence if they were not all mere figments of his mind. He realizes at the moment that survival is much more important than fame and glory.
The boar monster is gaining on him, and Jimmy is on the verge of losing it when a huge dark green shadow suddenly appears out of the thick bush in front of him.
“Oh shit, oh shit, the fug, an ogre?” Jimmy shouts when he notices the looming figure ahead.
“Not cool, kid. Me an orc, not stupid lumbering ogre”, said the green guy in a basso rough voice lazily.
For an orc, Torg is pretty huge. Standing fully erect at roughly 2 meters on 2 feet, he bears an impressive figure with those massive wide shoulders and barrel-like chests. Wearing a dark brown leather pants with green skirt-like clothes on his waist resembling a kilt, he looks menacing enough even without the huge war axe he is holding in his right hand.
“I was just trying to get some shut down a bit and here we are, a stupid hairless goblin playing chase with Porky,” he adds.
Jimmy tries to suppress his shock and manages to dodge the bulk in front of him by veering to the side, smartly avoiding a collision with the green gentleman.
The boar monster, seeing the sudden appearance of another behemoth, smartly decides to stop the chase and warily takes account of the things happening in front of it. It looks longingly at the fleeing lunch in front, who is smartly now tip toeing back further from the two giants. The boar then stares at the big green guy looming ahead, which according to his limited brain and memory and instinct, all screaming some voiceless warnings, of a very dangerous foe and predator that threatens its own existence.
Yet, the blood lust boiling in its head wins at the end and the boar monster, affectionately nicknamed Porky by Torg the Orc, rushes ahead and charges the big guy, damn all the consequences.
“Attaboy, that’s how you face an enemy, by showing your front, not your back,” compliment Torg, his voice growls with a hint of joy and his both hands lazily lift the huge war axe up.
Swish, crack…. Amidst the rumbling earth, the rising dust and the boar charges, Jimmy, a few meters behind the fight watches a quick splatter of pinkish blood with the cracking sound, and suddenly everything is quiet.
Then a deafening sound booms in the middle of the forest as the giant boar topples down to the earth, a war axe attached on its skull. The blood and brain drips down through the lethal wound, and Jimmy could not take his eyes off it. The boar monster was so mighty and scary for him a few minutes ago, and the giant green guy killed it within a swing and in a mere fraction of a second.
He couldn’t stop himself stares at the orc, with awe and fear, bigger fear, while Torg the Orc, stares back to the little guy.
Then the orc smirks, showing one of his tusks. And Jimmy, for all that is holy, lets go of everything in his bladder and wets himself.
